Deputy Minister of Economy
Lyuben Petrov finished the A.S.Popov High School of Low Electrical Voltage in 1985. He graduated the University of National and World Economy in Sofia, Bulgaria under the specialty Industrial Economics and Management in 1996. He specialized in Political Studies at the New Bulgarian University in 2008.
During the period 1993-1994 he was a member of the Board of Directors to Oborishte AD. From 1996-1997 Petrov was a chief expert in Privatization and Commercial Competitions to Serdika District, Sofia Municipality. In 1997, he was assigned to a post Executive Director of Oborishte AD, and from 1999 to 2001 he was a liquidator to the same company.
From 2002 to 2006, he was a Financial Controller to MTT EOOD, Sofia.
During the period 2006 – 2011, Petrov was a Mayor of Vitosha District, Sofia Municipality.
From 2007 to 2011, he was a deputy chairperson of the Capital Sports Association, a member and a deputy chairperson of the Regional Development Council of South West Planning, and a member to the Monitoring Committee under the OP “Development of the Competitiveness of the Bulgarian Economy”.
Since 2011 he has been an expert and a freelance consultant.
