MEP 2012-2014
Monika Panayotova is a General Manager of Inno Advisers Ltd, owned by COMAC Medical Ltd., member of the Advisory Bard of Bulgarian Memory Foundation , as well as manager of program “Europe” at the Sofia Defence Forum.
She was a Member o the European Parliament (2012-2014), part of CONT, CULT and SEDE committees. She initiated a strong call to the European Commission to declare 2017 as a European Year of Entrepreneurship, adopted by a large majority of MEPs. From 2009-2012 she was a member of the Bulgarian Parliament – a Chairwoman of the Committee on European Affairs and Oversight of the European Funds and a member of the Foreign Policy and Defence Committee. Between 2006 and 2008, Monika served as a “Projects and Public communications” Director and a research fellow at the Economic Policy Institute, Sofia.
She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in International relations and a Master degree in International Economic Relations from the University of World and National Economy, Bulgaria. She recently completed her PhD on European security and defence. She has executive education experience in the field of foreign and international affairs – Harvard University, JFK School of government; Tailored Seminar on National Security Policy for Representatives from Bulgaria, George C. Marshall European Center for Security Studies and NATO HQ Brussels.
